Burj Al Salam represents the revival of historical beauty and architectural marvel of ancient Sana’a. The city existed at a time when there were only tents to be found on the Arabian Peninsula – one of the oldest towns in the world, second only to Marib. Legend has it that the son of the biblical Noah, Sem, founded the city. Renowned as a refuge of peace, it was a place where fighting was not permitted. And this is what the name reflects: Burj Al Salam in Arabic language means tower of peace.

What you see today, as the majestic structure of Bur Al Salam is what was once a Yemeni house, silently witnessing the passage of time. It took ten long years of hard work and stringent measures to renovate the old house. The renovation was carried out under the strict supervision of UNESCO in order to respect and maintain the original architecture style.

While still maintaining the aesthetics of ancient architecture style, Bur Al Salam seamlessly combines the necessary comforts and refined hospitality of a modern day hotel.

Burj Al Salam has 47 rooms and suites carefully furnished with typical and hand-made furniture. The décor offers a taste of true Yemeni lifestyle to be experienced by the guests at the hotel. It is the one and only four-star hotel in the town, with coffee shop and regular restaurant.
